It’s the classic Busan question: Gwangalli or Haeundae? The two beaches are only a short subway ride apart on Line 2, but they feel very different. Busan was the 2nd most searched Korean destination by international travelers on Agoda in early 2026, with hotel searches up 43% — so good rooms go fast. Here’s how to choose.

📋 The short answer
✓ Come for night views, vibe and the drone show → Gwangalli
✓ First time in Busan, family trip, airport bus → Haeundae
✓ Both are on Subway Line 2, so wherever you stay, the other is an easy trip
✓ Winter: Gwangalli drone show (every Saturday) · Haeundae Lighting Festival (usually late Nov–Jan)

Gwangalli — best after dark

The star here is Gwangan Bridge. You see it head-on from almost anywhere on the beach, which makes dinner and an evening walk by the water the perfect plan. Ask for an ocean-view room if you want the bridge lights from your window.

Haeundae — the classic first visit

Haeundae is Busan’s most famous beach. Dongbaek Island sits at one end and Blueline Park (Beach Train and Sky Capsule) at the other, so there’s plenty within walking distance. The airport limousine stops right here, which helps if you have big suitcases.
